Zero Data Retention Agreements

Last Updated: December 2025
Overview

inCamera is a secure portal connecting attorneys to AI providers under contractual Zero Data Retention (ZDR) agreements. We are not an AI company—we facilitate protected access to leading AI providers. This page explains what these agreements mean for you and your client matters.

Your prompts and documents never touch inCamera servers. They are sent directly from your device to our AI providers under Zero Data Retention agreements. No copy of your content is retained after processing completes.

What ZDR Means

Zero Data Retention means no prompt storage and no caching of your interactions. Different AI providers may use different terms for these protections—"zero retention," "no logging," "ephemeral processing," or similar language—but the practical outcome is the same.

Under our Zero Data Retention agreements:

  • Prompts are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is generated
  • No logs, caches, or stored transcripts are created
  • No copy of your content is retained after processing completes
  • Your content is never used to train or improve AI models
  • Because no logs or stored data exist, neither inCamera nor AI provider employees can retrieve or review your content
How Data Flows

When you use inCamera:

  • Your prompt travels directly from your device to the AI provider
  • It is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3
  • The AI processes your request in memory
  • The response is returned to you
  • No copy of your content is retained after processing completes

inCamera servers only handle authentication. Your actual prompts and documents never touch our infrastructure.

Legal Requests

If inCamera or our AI providers receive a legal request (subpoena, court order, etc.) for your data:

  • We can confirm you have an account
  • We can provide billing usage amounts
  • If compelled by legal process, no prompts, documents, or transcripts can be produced—they do not exist

This is not a policy choice—it is an architectural reality. The data simply does not exist.

Verification Enables ZDR

Our Zero Data Retention agreements exist because of who uses the platform. By verifying that every user is a licensed attorney in good standing, we can:

  • Negotiate stronger privacy terms with AI providers
  • Demonstrate legitimate professional use
  • Maintain the integrity of our agreements
  • Ensure the platform serves its intended purpose

Your colleagues' verification protects your privacy as much as your own.

Our Commitments

inCamera commits to:

  • Maintaining ZDR agreements with all AI providers we use
  • Never routing your content through our servers
  • Transparently disclosing any changes to our architecture
  • Notifying users if ZDR terms are ever modified
