Getting Started
Welcome to inCamera. This guide will walk you through setting up your account and making your first AI-assisted query.
Overview
inCamera is a desktop application that provides AI assistance while maintaining complete privacy through our Zero Data Retention architecture. Once installed, you can:
- Analyze documents without uploading them to any server
- Research case law and statutes with AI assistance
- Generate first drafts of legal documents
- Get answers to complex legal questions
Installation
After your account is approved, you'll receive an email with download instructions. Follow these steps:
Download the App
Click the download link in your approval email to get the latest version of inCamera for your platform (macOS, Windows, or Linux).
Install the Application
Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. On macOS, drag inCamera to your Applications folder.
Launch and Authenticate
Open inCamera and sign in with your verified credentials. You'll need to complete authentication before using the platform.
Authentication
inCamera uses secure authentication to verify your identity while maintaining privacy:
- Sign in with your email and password, or use passkey authentication
- Authentication verifies you're a verified attorney
- Your session remains secure without storing sensitive data
Authentication only verifies your identity. Once authenticated, your prompts and documents are sent directly to the AI provider under our Zero Data Retention agreement—they never pass through our servers.
Your First Query
Once authenticated, you're ready to start using inCamera. Try a simple query to get familiar with the interface:

The AI will provide a comprehensive response. You can follow up with additional questions, request citations, or ask for clarification on specific points.
